Static Line and Instructor Assisted Deployment This is the classic way to
learn to Skydive. More first jumps have been made with the Static Line method
than any other.
A nylon strap, called a static line, is attached to the inside of the
airplane. You climb out of the aircraft under the supervision of your
instructor and when you exit the aircraft the parachute is pulled open by the
static line. Your parachute opens immediately and you float back to earth
while a ground coach assists you by radio.
